Turbidity

Turbidity means how cloudy the water is.

Material suspended in water makes it cloudy. This material is usually algae and particles of soil washed into the lake. Cloudy water means there is less light to make underwater plants grow. Smaller plants affect the growth and health of the fish and invertebrate communities that feed and live on them.

Readings (for valleys) range between excellent < 10 to poor ³ 22.5 NTU.
