Park Information
The park is a great place for a picnic, a leisurely walk or relaxing in tranquil bushland.
Park Hours The public car park is open daily from 7:30am to dusk. The park is open to visitors on foot at all hours. Location Newport Lakes Park is located off Margaret Street, Newport (just off Mason Street). Melway Map Ref: 55 G3. For those travelling by public transport, the park is about a 15 minute walk from Newport Station. There are buses in Mason St and Blackshaws Rd. Signage Please observe the instructions about dogs, safety and responsible behaviour on signs throughout the park.  | Dogs Dogs may be exercised - always within ther owner's control - in Pavey's Park, the Arboretum, and in the North West area of the park. Dogs must be on leash in the BBQ/picnic and playground areas of Pavey's park. Dogs are prohibited, however, from entering the sensitive bushland and North and South Lakes area of the reserve, where native vegetation and fauna are protected.
