The Newport Lakes Reserve is a unique case study in regenerative journey and community engagement. From its early days as a potential meeting place to its current status as a thriving ecosystem, the site has undergone significant transformation.

The story of the reserve’s preservation is one of community effort and dedication. A compromise was reached to save two lakes from further degradation, paving the way for their rebirth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Newport Lakes became an unexpected haven for those seeking solace in nature.
