Influencing the future

Newport Lakes Open Space Development & Conservation Plan

In October of 2021, FoNL helped to 'future proof' Newport Lakes Reserve. Hobsons Bay City Council invited FoNL and the public to comment on the Newport Lakes Reserve Conservation and Development Plan. Developed in association with the Friends of Newport Lakes, this plan outlines environmental values and challenges and provides a ten year plan to protect and enhance the Reserve.

We have provided specific feedback to the Council regarding the plan in the documents linked below. We encourage all of our members to review this document to better understand our position across Councils proposed plans and the individual implementation points.
